I do not think so. I believe these are two separate issues and should not have any effect on the chances of your frnd securing visa.

Hi Attorney,
Can you please let me know the answers to the following general questions.
For an individual, let’s say an I-485 was pending since July 2007 (I-140 approved) with current employer A and she moves to an employer B on a similar job on a H1-B transfer invoking the AC21 portability.
1) After the move, if the I-485 gets denied, can the person still retain the priority date of the underlying approved I-140 in any new application if she files with the same or a new employer.
2) After the move, if the I-485 gets denied and the person loses her job with the employer B, can she take a job with employer C by transferring the remaining time on her H1-B visa.

Tried to post in another, old thread - no response for several days, so decided to create a new one.
I asked my employer to create sub-account for me at http://www.plc.doleta.gov so I could check my PERM case status without polling them. The employer got back to me and said "looked into the site and I couldn�t find the way to create user account to view your case only".
They dont mind making sub-account for me, same way they do for attorneys and paralegals, but they dont want me to see their other pending cases or any information, unrelated to my case. So, my question is: is there a way to create sub-account, which would allow seeing my own case only?

APs are taking twice as much as EADs. Does anyone has any idea why?
I see 2 LUDs on my AP on 5th and 6th but no news till now. Is it coming?

We are very proud of all the guys / gals, who were there.
If possible, this great group can be divided in sub groups of 25 members each with few key co-ordinators in each sub group.
This organized team of great people will go a long way to support future drives of IV.
I know, I should have suggested this before...

I made address changes to pending EAD renewal and I-485 yesterday in the afternoon for myself and spouse. Same day later in the evening I got email saying CPO for EAD renewal. This is a story of 8/20/2008.
I tried called 800 number and was told that they can't verify that address was successfully changed on the application.THey don't have access to personal information. They are asking me to take Inforpass to verify the address.
There is no LUD on either I-485 or EAD renewal after address change. Is LUD an indication that address change has been done? There are no infopass available for 2 months ( I will keep checking if somebody cancels )
Does anybody has any pointer as to how I can verify address change without infopass

I went for visa interview in December, but my case was stuck because of administrative processing. I came back on Advance parole. I have the following questions.
1. Can I sponsor my parents visitor visa without any issue? Will the consulate quiz them/stop them because of my H-1 admin processing
2. Also is my admin processing still going on? and can I stamp my H-1 visa in the future after my case is cleared from admin processing.

from my personal experience and from others, you can't get to talk to an Immigration Officer by calling the 1-800 number. you need to get an Info pass appointment and that way you can talk to an IO.

I am a July' 07 I-485 filer and have received my EAD and AP.
I am currently on H1 and not using my EAD yet.
In my situation can I accept any contract work on 1099? This will be beside my full time work.
Do I have to switch to EAD from H1 to accept 1099 for contract work?

I have renewed my AP third time now; All three time AP went to lawyer; This time it was a record 15 days for AP approval. USCIS is getting it done superfast looks like.
EAD always came directly to me. (Never in DHL- probably a special case????)

Your PD is not Current also there is no premium processing for EB2 yet. You can file I140 through your Lawyer.

Just came across GAO's( General Accountability Office) recommendations to make changes in H-1B program. Eventhough they talk mainly about Staffing Companies and increased employer accountability, there seems to be a mention regarding the H1B extensions beyond 6 years with simultaneous application to green card. Eventhough not stating in exact words, it seems to hint to the congress to seriously relook at H-1B extensions beyond 6years and also regarding cap exempt Visas and supposedly how easy it is to get them. Looks like with the economy being how it is, Congress might use this report to jump in and bring some unfavourable changes. Any thoughts on this...?
